The “Liberation day” was yesterday according to President Trump. But was it really a “Liberation day”? Almost every country except Russia, North Korea and Belarus was awarded with tariffs.

What will be the outcome of this for the average American and what about the rest of the world?
This seems like questions that was not asked within the White House before they launched Trumps terrible plan.
What has been forgotten by President Trump is that almost everything that is still produced in the US include materials and or parts from other countries. There is also a lot of products that the average US citizen need that is not produced in the US.
All of this will become more expensive now. Prices on gasoline, diesel, food, steel, plastics, clothes etc – everything will rise up drastically.
For other countries it will lead to less export to the US when the US citizen start struggling with the prices. This will lead to loss of jobs also all around the globe. In addition countries that has gotten tariff on their products will need to retaliate and place tariffs on American products.
Trump think this will lead to companies building factories in the US. He used Apple as an example of his success in getting companies to build factories in the US. In reality Apple announced this more than 3 years ago. Trump had nothing to do with that.
He did however present a list of companies that has “contacted him” according to him and presenting “how great this will be” and that they are going to build factories in the US.
In reality this is a rape of these companies. They are forced to build additional factories in the US or face tariffs.
Even companies that had existing companies in the US have to expand to make their entire product line, every part on US soil – even if they produce the same across the border. This is going to become unimaginable expensive.
Then the big question is – Who will pay for this? At first it is the American people. Secondly it will be the US allies that get another hit in the stomach with reduced sales to the US. We can always find buyers for our products tho.
It will be extremely hard for the US to replace all the products that will disappear or get an steep price increase.
My conclusion is that this is another step President Trump takes to increase the divide between the poor (workers) and the super rich (like him).
It is the worker class(everything under top tier middle class in the US) that will pay for this. And what is he going to spend the tariff income on? Do you think it is going to be spent on better living conditions for his worker bees? No, it is going entirely to pay down debt and to cut taxes for one group and one group alone – himself and his friends.
The effects can already be seen when you check the stock markets. They are down across the world – and this is just the start.
In a few days they will have a steep downfall again as countries start slamming on tariffs in retaliation – making everything from raw materials to finished products more expensive over night for everyone outside the US.
It will make it super expensive to choose an US made product instead of an domestic or foreign product produced outside of the US. There will basically be nothing the US manufacturers can do to stay competitive.
At the same time Trump also is doing everything he can to alienate companies around the world by demanding anti DEI certification to be allowed to continue trading with the US.
Not only tariffs but also enforcing the US regime on sovereign countries around the world.
I talked to a friend about this earlier tonight, and I mentioned something I want to share here too: When I was young I often contemplated and wondered what was the real cause of big civilizations like the Egyptian, Aztec etc disappeared. Now we know. All it takes is a stupid leader.
My opinion is this, the US is shooting itself in the foot. IF Trump is not removed soon this will end with the downfall of the US. The damage done is already enormous and might take decades to fix but it is still fixable. But the clock is ticking and it is getting worse for every day he’s in office.
